Mindfulness Personal Growth Relationships

I’m reading this amazing book called “Return to Love” by Marianne Williamson. This book is her interpretations of A Course in Miracles. If you have ever tried to read a Course in Miracles, it’s hard to get through a few pages without your head spinning in circles, trying to truly soak in and understand the teachings of love.

The teachings of love.

What if what we’ve been taught about love is wrong? Is loving something that really needs to be taught to us? It’s actually there with us, always has been. We have just been taught to focus our energy on all the things that are not love, and believe them to be love.

As babies, we were born pure love. All we knew was love. What happens as we get socially conditioned to value things that are not love, and to push away and resist love. We’ve been taught to strive, and to prove ourselves, to accomplish, to show, to fight, to obtain. In fact, we have become a bunch of little soldiers-separate one men armies standing and defending our grounds (ego) till the death.

We’ve not been taught to surrender, and in surrendering is where we find that elusive peace.

To relax, to feel the love in your heart, to let go of expectations and worry, and to surrender to it. To allow everything to be taken care of for you. Imagine that? Not needing to worry? To believe that if we let go and surrender, it will be taken care of, if only we just relaxed a little bit. Have faith, and trust.

“To relax, to feel the love in your heart and to keep that as your focus in every situation-that’s the meaning of spiritual surrender. It changes us. We become deeper, more attractive people.” -Marianne Williamson

If our mind is full of anxiety, how can there be room for expansion? How can we know where to go next, when we are depending on external sources of validation, rather than going inward and truly finding the answers in our heart?

Surrendering, and drinking in the love around you in any situation is a beautiful thing. It allows for peace amongst the chaos.

With every life decision, make the choice to surrender to love. Make your decisions out of love.

Surrender to your higher self, she knows what she’s doing here! Nothing is too big for love to handle, if we let go and allow love to handle it.

“Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. The world softens when we soften. The world loves us, when we choose to love the world. Surrender means the decision to stop fighting the world, and to start loving it instead. It is a gentle liberation from pain. But liberation isn’t about breaking out of anything, it’s a gentle melting into who we really are”

-Return to Love, Marianne Williamson.

Just surrender.
